That night practically everyone gathered together for supper. The mood was light and everyone seemed to be in a good mood, but William could not stop thinking about the drive home with Vivian the night previous. At first he had just been speeding down the road, as if to put some space between him and his demons. Remembering what had happened though, he’d pulled over to the side of the road and pulled her into a warm embrace. “Is your face okay?” he asked her.
"I'm fine,” she replied, with tears in her eyes. “It doesn't hurt…"
William: “Then I am going to let you out here. You can call a cab. I have some things to attend to. Please get out of the car.”
