The obvious danger of uncertainty still hung on our heads, but each other’s company somehow helped us in those desperate moments. When Emanuel broke the kiss, I stared into his eyes, hoping he’d tell me he loved me. 

Around then, Elijah interrupted us, “Eww. Go, get a room!”

I looked at him with a displeased expression on my face, “Can’t you at least pretend to be asleep?”

“I can hear the smacking and moaning sounds. Obviously, I can’t pretend to do that. You are making too much noise right beside me,” responded Elijah, trying to annoy both of us. 

Emanuel grinned as he suggested, “Should we throw this guy out?” 

“I’m sick,” he protested. 

I finally got off Emanuel and tended to the ailing Elijah, who had no trouble complaining, “Since I’m going to die anyway, you both shouldn’t be bothered b……
