The moment the soles of my blood-soaked, mud-covered boots touched their graveled drive, my darker half healed me, leaving my secrets covered beneath the bloody bandages, leaving me painless in my wounds, but not even our magic could erase that longing ache in my chest I usually get with the urge to return to the forest. This time, it was more of an ache to return to that bedroom to get to know the boys who saved my life and made my heart race with their kind smiles and beautiful eyes.
"You could have been killed, Frankie," Darcel grumbled, frustrated with me.
"Why didn't you shift? You could have easily killed that wolf." Clyde said, having a more concerned tone than Darcel.
"I know I could have been killed, and I don't know why I didn't shift. My darker half won't……
