AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
I stood, needing to shake off the sudden wave of emotion. The house was quiet, save for the faint hum of the heater, and I made my way to the kitchen. The air was cool against my skin, and I rubbed my arms as I poured myself a glass of water. The faint sound of footsteps made me turn. Xavier stood in the doorway, his hair slightly messed up and the blanket still draped over his shoulders.
"You should be resting." I said, my voice soft but firm.
He gave me a small, tired smile.
"I could say the same to you."He said calmly.
I frowned, setting the glass down.
"Xavier, you need to take it easy. You’re still recovering."I said.
He shrugged, leaning against the doorframe.
"I’m fine, Isabella. I’ve been through worse."He said.
