IN A FEW DAYS
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
The evening air carried a quiet chill, a reminder that Christmas was only hours away. I stood in front of the mirror in Xavier’s room, smoothing down the soft fabric of my dress. It was a deep red, simple yet elegant, and it felt festive without being overdone. A faint smile tugged at my lips as I adjusted the delicate gold necklace around my neck. The faint sound of Xavier humming drifted from the living room, and I couldn’t help but feel a warmth spread through me. It had been years since I’d felt this excited about Christmas.
The decorations we’d picked out together twinkled softly in the background, and the small tree in the corner stood proudly, adorned with ornaments that seemed to tell a story of their own.
