Things moved so fast when we got home. I mind linked our healer and the pack hospital, my mother and Eliza.

The two women had rushed out when we arrived and Eliza nearly fainted. Corin went with Silas as the nurses took over for the warriors who had been applying pressure to his wounds. Jax and I stood watching them take him away.

"What happened? Where is Samuel?" my mother demanded as she helped Eliza sit down.

"Rogues attacked when Grace and Silas were alone. He kept them away so she could run," Jax told my mother, avoiding her question about my father.

She stared at Jax in shock, "Rogues? Silas took on rogues....alone?" She began to pace, running her hands over her face. "He can't even shift! No doubt they tossed him around like a rag doll!"
