While Amy and Phoenix walked over to the table where their friends sat, I texted my Mom.

Sage: We made it to the Conservation Park safely. Phoenix kept his promise and drove safely. His friends are all here, and I just met his girlfriend, Amy. She's beautiful and very nice.

Mom: I'm glad your cousin was responsible, and you get to spend time with his friends. I remember how much you enjoyed spending time with them, too. Amy is someone new, though. I'm glad you seem to like her.

Sage: It looked like an intense conversation I walked into before we left. Dad had mentioned wanting to ask Phoenix to work with Raven and me on self-defense skills. It is still a good idea, but it would be best to talk to Raven about it first. If Dad still needs to ask, please ask him……
