Chapter 133: Spectral Warnings

She was alluring, with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. There was a haunted look in her mesmerizing eyes. I couldn't look away. She was right beside me and yet felt so far away. My heart raced, and my breath caught in my throat. The air was bitterly cold, and I shivered as I wrapped my arms around myself. I did so not just because of how glacial the temperature had become but to grant myself a smidgen of comfort. Was this a dream? Or was I dream walking again? How could I do that with a ghost if it were the latter?


"I won't hurt you, Sage," Courtney spoke in a hushed and raspy voice.


I pinched myself. It hurt. Was this a dream? f**k. I leaned against the rough, weathered tree and gripped the branch supporting me where I sat tightly. I forced myself to close my eyes and take ……
