Sage's Point of View...
There was something wrong. I couldn't shake it. A feeling of dread was consuming me. It had been several hours since River had texted. They must have finished their family dinner by now. I decided to call Raven. If something were wrong, she would tell me. I dialed her number, and she picked up on the third ring.
"Raven, something is wrong. I'm wearing the ring your Mom gave me, and I have a terrible feeling that I haven't been able to shake for hours. Are you okay? Is River okay?" I asked, my voice trembling.
"Today has been... a lot... I'm emotionally spent, but River has been quite upset all day. He's in his room; keep talking to me, and I'll go and check on him," Raven said, her voice distraught.
I could hear her knocking and then banging on his do……
