A call for change

I sat before my grandfather, heads down. I managed to catch him at the airport before his flight took off.

Now we're the only ones in the waiting room, basking in the uncomfortable silence between us.

I cleared my throat as if to remind him of my existence, yet he didn't say anything.

"Why did you stop me?" He said finally.

"I had to see you." I answered, looking at him now.

"To see how angry I am at your incompetence??"

" I am really sorry. Honestly, things were going so well..."

"Until it wasn't!" He snapped, cutting me off. "Things used to be very perfect with you. Now you're saying I have to start cleaning after your ass?"

"No.... I'll make sure the next show is perfect to your liking. "

"I'm not interested." He snorted, rising to his feet, "You must have heard from Cole."

"Heard what?"……
