After Ruby was accused of stealing my mom’s necklace, something didn’t sit right with me. The very next day, Alexa waltzed into my office, offering to take Ruby’s place as my secretary now that Ruby was behind bars. I have known Alexa for years—long enough to recognize that ambition drives her every move. She will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. I told her I didn’t need her help, especially since she didn’t know the first thing about this business. She was visibly annoyed but wore a mask of fake politeness, pretending everything was fine.
