It was in the middle of the night, and I could not ignore the sounds of pain any longer. I debated whether I should go check it out or not. However, my curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to go.

I gently pushed my bedroom door open and followed the noise, which led me right into Bruno's room. I had a moment of doubt, wondering if I should intrude on his privacy, but heck, my curiousness won.

Inside, I found Bruno in the grip of some intense pain, seemingly unaware of my presence. His face contorted in agony, and he appeared to be trapped in some kind of trance. At that moment, a dark thought crossed my mind. I could take advantage of his vulnerable state, kill him, and escape before anyone found out but I dismissed the thought.
