I couldn't stop myself. I needed her. I have missed her, and I have been tested and tried. My only solace came when my mind wandered toward her, and my thoughts of her invaded my heart and soothed my soul.
She kissed me like she had missed me in the same way—like a thirsty woman searching for vital liquid and finding it on my lips. I picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my waist. She had lost weight, and it took me a minute to realize that once we had accepted our bond, we couldn't be apart without having consequences, such as the noticeable black circles under her beautiful turquoise eyes.
I growled, "Lia, if you are tired, stop me..." I managed to grunt between kisses.
"We can rest later..." She kissed me back, and I chuckled against her lips.
"Damn it, woman..." ……
