(Alexander)
I should have never come here.
I told myself it was just to clear my head, to get a break from the thoughts that had been consuming me for weeks. But the second I saw her, I knew I had made a mistake.
Selene.
I wanted to turn and leave, but my feet remained rooted in one spot. I couldn't stop myself from watching her dancing like she had no worries, her body moving to the music like she wasn’t driving me insane. Like she didn’t know exactly what she was doing to me.
I clenched my fists, trying to keep my control, but it was slipping fast. I could see the way other men were looking at her, whispering about her, wanting her.
No. Over my dead f*****g body.
I moved before I even realized it.
The crowd barely registered as I pushed through, my eyes locked on her. She was laughing with Maya, pretending like she didn’t feel me coming. But I knew better.
She felt me.
I reached her in seconds, my hand closing around her wrist, cutting off whatever stupid game she thought she was playing.
She gasped, eyes snapping to mine. “Alexander?”
I didn’t answer. I didn’t have time for words.
She barely had a second to react before I was pulling her through the crowd, not caring who saw. Not caring what they thought.
"Hey!" she protested, trying to dig her heels in, but she wasn't strong enough to stop me. "What the hell are you doing?"
I didn’t respond.
I led her straight out of the club, into the cool night air, ignoring the confused looks we got from the people standing outside.
“Alexander, stop!” she snapped, trying to yank her wrist free. "Where are we going?"
I didn’t stop.
I didn’t answer.
She fought me the whole way to my car, but I was stronger. Bigger. She didn't stand a chance.
When I reached the passenger door, I yanked it open and turned to her. "Get in."
She glared at me. "No."
I exhaled slowly, patience hanging by a thread. "Selene."
"Tell me where we're going first," she demanded, stubborn as ever.
I didn’t have the words for it. Didn’t have the patience.
So I did the only thing I could.
I leaned in, pressing my body against hers, caging her between me and the car. She sucked in a breath, her hands pressing against my chest, but she didn’t push me away.
"You’re testing me, Selene," I said, my voice low. "And you don’t want to do that."
Her breath hitched, and for a second, she didn’t say anything.
I waited.
And when she still refused to move, I reached down, gripping her by the waist and lifting her into the damn car myself. She let out a surprised gasp, her hands gripping my arms, but I didn’t give her time to argue before I slammed the door shut.
By the time I got to the driver’s side, she was fuming. "Are you serious right now?"
I ignored her, starting the car.
"Alexander!" she snapped. "Where the hell are you taking me?"
Silence.
She huffed, crossing her arms. "This is k********g, you know."
I smirked, finally glancing at her. "If I was k********g you, Selene, I wouldn't be taking you somewhere safe."
Her lips parted, but she didn't have a response to that.
Good.
She stayed quiet for most of the ride, but I could feel the tension radiating off her. I knew she wanted to push, to demand answers, but she also knew me.
Knew when I wasn’t going to give them.
When I pulled up to the cabin, she frowned. "What is this?"
"A cabin," I said simply, getting out.
She hesitated before following, wrapping her arms around herself as she took in the cabin. It wasn’t anything fancy. Just a place where I could escape when I needed to be alone.
She turned to me, eyes still burning with frustration. "And why am I here?"
I didn’t answer.
I unlocked the door and stepped inside, waiting for her to follow.
She did.
The second she was in, I shut the door behind her.
The silence was thick, the air between us filled with something I had been trying to ignore for too damn long.
She turned to face me, her jaw tight. "You can’t just drag me out of a club like that."
I stepped closer.
She swallowed hard, but she didn’t back away.
"You were playing a dangerous game, Selene," I said.
She lifted her chin. "I was having fun."
"Fun?" I scoffed. "Is that what you call it? Dancing around, trying to make me lose control?"
Her eyes flashed with something, but she kept her expression neutral. "I wasn’t doing anything wrong."
I reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, watching the way her breath hitched. "You knew I was there."
She didn’t deny it.
I let my fingers trail down her jaw, my self-control hanging by a thread. "And you wanted me to react."
Her lips parted slightly, her eyes locked onto mine.
I leaned in just enough to feel her warmth, just enough to make her shiver.
"Tell me I’m wrong," I murmured.
She didn’t.
I let the silence stretch between us, let her feel the weight of what she had started.
And then I closed the distance.
My lips crashed against hers, no hesitation, no more holding back.
She gasped against my mouth, her hands gripping my shirt, and I took full advantage.
I deepened the kiss, my fingers tangling in her hair, pulling her closer, needing her closer.
She melted against me, responding instantly, her body pressing into mine like she had been waiting for this just as much as I had.
I groaned against her lips, finally allowing myself to taste her, to claim her the way I had wanted to for so damn long.
This was dangerous.
This was reckless.
But I didn’t care.
Not anymore.
