I barely waited for Victoria to leave before turning to Alexander. His grip on my hand was tight, his body still tense, but there was fire in his eyes. The fight wasn’t over—not by a long shot—but the first step had been taken. And we won.
The pack had accepted us. Maybe not all of them, but enough. Enough to know that Alexander was their Alpha and that I was his. His mother could sneer, protest, and scheme all she wanted, but it didn’t matter anymore. Not to me.
Because tonight, we made our stand.
Alexander gave my hand a final squeeze before leading me out. Neither of us spoke as we walked, the tension between us shifting. It wasn’t the same as before. This wasn’t about politics, his mother, or the pack anymore. This was about us.
