“Whores?” I say to Melissa who cannot afford to look me in the eyes. I don’t know if it’s because of how I spoke to her at the shore or if its because she is the bearer of the news that Elizabeth should have delivered.
“You said?” I ask, walking over to the desk where I have a list of scrolls to go through. They are filled with names, titles and identities of the kings and queens who will be joining the banquet. These rulers will basically be the ones to decide my fate and whether I deserve the right to own their borders. The last thing I need is to forget their names when I come face to face them, Gethmorn will be doomed if I made such a move.
“Master Ducor is here to showcase the women.” Melissa says and I take a seat, not lifting my eyes to look at her any longe……
