“Get out of my sight.” I seethe at her and she hesitantly leaves the room.

“I will go and find your mate.” Allen says, standing behind me and I rise on my feet.

“I’ll go too.” I say. I approach the ornate pedestal where it rests, the hilt is adorned with intricate ancient beads that belonged to my mother. As I hold it, the cool metal and weight is familiar in my hand. I fasten it to my side.
