The only thing my parents ever cared about was my role as heir to the throne. I wasn’t their son—I was their pawn, a tool they could use to consolidate power. Everything in their plan revolved around me pleasing them, following their rules. But Fiona… Fiona was different. She wasn’t born into privilege. She was left to fend for herself, struggling to survive without even a hint of shifter powers.
And yet, despite it all, she had learned to protect herself, to stand strong in a world that constantly tried to knock her down.
Even Jasper, with his arrogance, and Theo, with his cold indifference, seemed to care about her in their own ways. For Fiona, those guys could be... better. They’re all trying to win her over, just like I am. But it burns me inside. I hate seeing ……
