She left with a promise of loyalty to me, and I couldn’t deny how much I needed more allies to survive. The risks I was taking with the Fae and Nymphs were enormous, but I hoped they would pay off. If they didn’t, the consequences could be catastrophic. Still, I had to act.
Early Sunday morning, a sharp knock startled me from sleep. Emma entered without waiting for an invitation. “Time to work out,” she announced. I groaned, slumping to the floor near the door, my muscles already protesting the thought of movement.
“Get dressed, gym clothes. Now. And run,” she said, rolling her eyes as I dragged myself up.
On the way to the gym, my steps faltered when I saw my Mates already there, exercising. My heart skipped a beat. Oh my God. It’s like walking into an ice cr……
