It’s unfortunate, but I disliked the Alpha King even more as I watched him walk down the aisle with his parents, exuding arrogance.
Sure, I’m grateful he saved me from the slayer, but his haughty attitude and the way he winked and smiled at the girls practically throwing themselves at him only deepened my irritation. They were blushing so hard, I half-expected someone to faint.
And then there was the moment—so brief but so pointed—when his sharp gaze landed on me. His eyebrows raised slightly, as though daring me to acknowledge him. I rolled my eyes and looked away, muttering to myself, I have no interest in looking at you.
None at all. This festival better end soon so I can eat in peace without this circus.
