As I stood beside Ariel, staring at the mark on her neck which was already starting to heal, I could feel the heat of my wolf pressing against me.
I could hear his thoughts, which he made sure to fill my head with, accompanied by his actions and urge to claim his mate.
Ariel’s wolf was calling out to him too, and that made the situation more chaotic, but she was doing a better job at hiding it than my wolf.
He wanted her badly. Ever since I’d marked her, it had been almost impossible to keep myself in check. But I had to. Not yet, I told myself. There were things we needed to talk about first.
