I watched with a wide smile, as Ariel stomped away like a little girl who had been denied access to a girl’s scout training camp.
The embarrassment she felt, the shame, was like a soothing balm to my soul.
Everyone began to whisper as they watched her walk away, while some felt genuinely sorry for her, others had satisfactory remarks on their faces.
Either way, most of their reactions were fueled by the rumors I had intentionally spread, about Ariel being responsible for Daniel’s dilemma.
However, the truth was, I didn’t care about Daniel, not even a little. If anything, I thought he deserved the beating Magnus had given him. He was nothing but a spineless fool who had ignored me ever since we arrived in this pack.
