“You told your father about us?” My hands trembled.
“Harlow did,” Kade mumbled.
He stood between Athena and me. My principal had a duty to hand me over to one of the most powerful alphas in the shifter community but my mate had a duty to protect me. I had the will to live and wouldn’t let myself die.
The classroom was on the second floor of McGregor Castle. It would be quite a drop but if I hung onto the window and climbed into another room I would be out of the frying pan and onto the counter. I didn’t need my belongings I needed safety.
While Kade and Athena conversed I scurried to the window. A tall wide window without burglar bars. I unlocked the latch and heaved it up.
“Gabbie?”
“Don’t—” I plastered myself against the wall.
“I won’t let him hurt you.”
