I unlocked the door and threw it open. If it was a trick I would have been killed on the spot. My chest heaved as I stared at Kade standing on my doorstep. I flew into his arms. Kade encased me in his arms. A series of sobs rattled my body.
“It’s you,” I sobbed.
Kade stroked my hair and kissed my shoulder. “Hey Babe.”
I peeked over his shoulder to make sure no one was watching. Our two packs weren’t exactly allies. Then I noticed the blue pickup truck in my driveway.
“How did you find me?” I dragged him inside and locked the door.
He looked around my home, some of the furniture still covered with bedsheets. The air was still stuffy and thanks to my digging around the dust had spread. He settled on me and smiled. He cupped my cheeks and chuckled.
“I couldn’t stay away from you for long.”
