Kade and I didn’t speak for the rest of the trip. The second I got back from the trip I went to Athena’s office. I needed to communicate with my mom. There was no way she would abandon me here. I found Headmistress Athena sitting at her desk with her head buried in a stack of papers. I guess it took a lot to run an institute like McGregor Academy.
“Miss Chambers,” she said. There was a hint of a smile on her wrinkled face.
Athena was a hard woman and she needed to be if she was going to keep alpha wolves in line. I was surprised she remembered me. I barely interacted with her and there were hundreds of students at the school.
“Do you have a minute?”
She nodded and pointed at the chair in front of me. “How may I be of assistance? You’ve had quite an eventful stay here so far.”
