Ezra POV
After our family dinner, Joy and I drove back to my dad's place and made love. I know the hardest part about all this is letting her leave. I was uncertain if I would do so… I wanted her with me, even when I knew she needed to go back to finish her studies. The selfish side of me wanted her to stay.
The next morning, we boarded the private jet to take us back to Los Angeles. Dad made us promise we would be back soon, perhaps for Christmas, only if our schedules aligned, and I hoped they did. Five hours later, we landed in Los Angeles and a car was waiting for us to take us to our apartment.
The ride was quiet, while my wife held my hand and laced her fingers in mine. I felt her nerves, I lifted her hand to my lips, tenderly kissing her knuckles. She gave me a tight smi……
