I turned to look at the cold looking man who was walking towards me. That wasn't right. He couldn't have planned it, right? But I received the call of my brother being arrested as soon as I ran out of the villa that day.
I was certain he had something to do with it. Or else how can the murderer be found so soon?
My hatred for him tripled and I hated myself for being tied to him. I didn't realize I was still staring until I heard his question.
"Even if you are attracted to my face, shouldn't you be discreet?" He said, a glimmer of pride on his face.
What! Such arrogance!
"And why would I be attracted to the face of someone like you?" I asked, scoffing.
"You can't stop drooling," he simply replied.
Drooling? That's impossible! Can't he see I was and still angry? I wasn't drooling! And even if I was, then I was drooling with anger!
"Your face holds no candle to my boyfriend!" I sneered, shocking myself.
" Boyfriend?"
As soon as he said the words, I could feel the temperature of the surrounding rising. Was that anger I sensed from him? Of course, it could be because I just hurt his pride!
Humph! Let's see who's better at jabbing!
"You are my wife…" he said, gritting his teeth.
"Your forced wife in a forced marriage. Don't get it twisted, I am not in any real relationship with you!" I countered.
" You…" I saw his face darkening and a frown etched in his face.
The next moment, he grabbed my hands and dragged me to himself. I fell towards his chest and I could feel my stupid heart pounding. His scent wafted into my nose and at the same time I could feel my emotions go haywire.
Fine, he was handsome and every woman's dream but that shouldn't be enough excuse to get my heart pounding! I tried to pull myself away from him but his words stopped me.
"If you wish to be the face of tomorrow's news, then you can go ahead"
Tomorrow's news? Oh my god! How could I forget he was the renowned heir of the Clarksville family that just came back to take over the family's business?
Although it was hard to capture their news without their permission, they still have people that would sneakily post about them once in a while.
No-no-no, I can't afford to be in the news! What if my parents saw it? At that thought, I clung to him like an octopus, disregarding the fact that he was my mortal enemy!
He brought out his phone and made a call.
"Deal with this!"
He dropped the call and faced me. He chuckled at my action as he led me to the car that was waiting some distance away from the registry. As soon as we got to it, I quickly opened the door and hopped in. I held my chest that was pounding erratically.
" What a narrow escape! What would I have told Joe and the others?" I blurted out, still trying to catch my breath.
" Shouldn't you be proud to be married to me?" He asked, sitting beside me. I could see a frown on his face.
If he wasn't from the Clarksville family or he didn't force me, then maybe, I might be proud to be his wife!
" Why should I? You just destroyed my life," I simply said, turning my face away.
"Take us to the Villa," I heard him telling the driver.
I could hear his voice filled with anger. I smiled to myself, happy that I was able to get him riled up. But I never told him I was going to the villa. I have my own apartment.
"I am not going to the Villa. I have my own apartment," I said.
A scoff came out from his mouth as he looked at me as if I was some piece of trash. Whatever, I don't give a damn!
"Are you sure? The last time I checked, your luggage was all over the place," he said, chuckling.
What does he mean by that?
"Still don't get it? Simply put, you don't have a home," he said.
I felt weak, knowing my agent must have thrown my things out after not meeting up with the deadline. But I still wasn't going to stay in that Villa.
"I have a home, Mr. Jason. I will appreciate it if you don't meddle with my private life. That was part of the agreement. You can drop me off at my apartment," I said, biting my lower lip.
"Your luggage is at the Villa. You can come if you want to," he said, closing his eyes.
I bite my lip in contemplation. I had no choice but to follow him over to the Villa so I could extract my luggage. I can also see the little dumpling over there.
I kind of miss him.
I opened my phone and sent a message to Joe telling him to meet me up at the cafe opposite the hospital. We need to talk about the basement he promised to let me stay in.
I can't stay with this iceberg, no matter what.
I was still deep in thought when the car pulled to a stop. I looked around and saw that we were already at the villa.
Sighing deeply, I looked at my white gown and the certificate in my hand. I don't know why he insisted on me taking my copy of the marriage certificate. It's not like it was real.
"Are you going to sleep in the car?"
I rolled my eyes at his question. Will it kill him to be a little caring? Not that I want it anyway but he should be a gentleman.
"Arrogant!" I breathed out.
He didn't bother to answer me, instead he turned around to leave. I scoffed at him before trying to get out of the car.
Just as I got out of the car, a strong wave of perfume wafted into my nose and a feminine voice rang out.
"Sweetheart, where have you been? I have been waiting for you for a long time!"
And right in front, the barbie looking lady ran into his embrace and was about to give him a kiss!
What the heck!
