The weight of what we’d just done settled over me like a warm blanket as we lay there on the office floor, tangled in each other. My heart was still racing, my body still buzzing from the pleasure, but underneath it all, there was a strange emptiness that I couldn’t shake.

James stirred beside me, his fingers brushing through my hair, his breath still coming in slow, steady exhales against my neck. I closed my eyes, savoring the feeling of him this close, but it didn’t ease the gnawing sensation deep inside me. Even with him here, something was missing even after what we’d just done—something I couldn’t quite put into words.
A soft sigh escaped my lips as I reluctantly pulled away, the cool air rushing between us as I sat ……
