Diana.
Before this event, or finding out the truth, I had never imagined that i would be able to perceive the fresh air outside the pack.
I had always been locked away, unless I was going with Lucien and of course, his side piece. I had never been alone, which now I had figured it out.
Lucien was scared that I would get loose and find out the truth, well, he had done a very good job at that because now, I found out in a way I had never imagined. “We are almost at the pack house.” Valen informed
The corner of my mouth twitched as I tried to find the right word to respond to him. Instead, I nodded my head. “The first thing that would happen when we get there is that a doctor would come to check you.” He added.
That, after everything, I do need to see a doctor. I have a lot of questions that I want to ask the doctor, a gynecologist especially. “What about yourself?” I asked him.
“You need to see a doctor yourself.” I pointed at wounds all over his body.
He gave me a faint smile. “Your health matters the most right now. When the doctor is done with you, he will attend to me.”
I dropped it there, while his phone pinged and got his attention. One mistake that I had made was leaving behind my phone.
Not that I have something important on it, but it means that I have to start from afresh. While on the other hand, I don't have to go through the breakdown that would soon hit me.
That phone would only remind me of what had been of me all these years, when I had only been a fool and let someone deceived me.
I didn't want to think much of it, I was already telling myself that it happened for a reason and Lucien was only a b***h that needed to be taught a lesson that he would never forget.
Of course, I wasn't sure of where i want to start from, but it would lead to somewhere. “We are here.” The driver informed.
Valen's attention was still on his phone while I looked around me. It was bigger than the house that I had always called mine.
No, this is ten times bigger if I am not mistaken. This is what we called heaven on earth, because it looks like one. “Wow.” I breathed as I dropped out of the car.
“Take her to the room and have the doctor check her now.” Valen instructed, without even looking up from his phone.
That made me felt weird about everything. I mean, he would have been with me, taking me to my said room himself and all, but his attention never left his phone. “Thank you.” I said to him, even though I am not sure he heard me.
“Follow me, miss.” the old aged lady said, holding my bag. I felt bad for letting her hold it, but my legs were threatening to give up on me, so I let it be.
Like a lost puppy, who was waiting for a new owner, I followed her into the majestic house, my mouth hung low from being left in awe.
When I saw it was huge, then I have no words that could explain it more. The huge portraits of the ancient times hung on the walls, they were grand, imposing and masterfully painted. They covered nearly every inch of the walls, frok floor to ceiling.
The ceilings soar at least thirty feet high, crowned with moldings that I had never seen in my life, and a massive, shimmering chandelier that shun light like a waterfall of crystal. The floor is a polished dark hardwood, reflecting the warm golden hues from antique sconces of the walls.
Every corner of the room holds a wonder: marble statues on pedestals, a grand piano that looks untouched but perfectly in tune, exotic rugs, and glass display cases with artifact, ancient scrolls, strange mechanical devices, even a taxidermy phoenix-looking bird that seems almost alive. It could be alive.
“You see, Alpha Valen's grandfather was a collector and so, Alpha Valen took it upon himself to continue collecting art in memories of his grandfather.” The lady explained, she must have noticed how i had stayed rooted for some minutes, before I followed her, into the now dark hall way on the second floor.
I nodded my head as if she could see me there. “We always call it our mini museum because it reminded us of the days when life was still better.” She added
When life was good to everyone, and no one had to suffer for the mistake of someone else. “I love it.” I admitted.
The man I had once married was never a fan of going back to the days, reminiscing what was left of our ancestors. He always made it a big deal, and now, Valen is just showing a whole different world that I never knew existed. “I will take you around when you rest later but for now, the doctor is around.” The lady informed.
We stopped in front of a huge black oak door, which made me realized that this house has adopted the color black and in a way, it is sexy. “I am the head of the maid, I have been here for years and my name is Barbara.” The lady introduced.
“Thank you, Miss Barbara.” I uttered. “For the mini tour.”
She waved her hand, opening the door with the bunch of keys she had retrieved from under her shirt. Damn, she really had been here for as long as she said. “Please call me, Barbara.”
She is old enough to be my grandmother, so u really don't think I can call her by her name but I would try. “this is your room. I would have loved to stay by, but I need to prepare your food and guide the doctor here.”
“So I will be back in less than ten minutes with the doctor.” Barbara ended as we walked into the room.
She turned on the side and I had no idea what I was feeling at the time. This, it wasn't anything that I had expected. This room is a villa on its own and she just called it mine!
Could this day get any better? Because if it does, then there is no way I would get myself caught up in reminiscing the past.
I want nothing to do with that part of life, the one that has Lucien included.
