Diana.
The last thing I remembered was finishing up my meal, then I passed out on the bed. I had no idea of how the dishes were cleared.
I rubbed my eyes, then got down from the bed. I had never been this way, waking up with no anxiety or thinking about how the man I share a bed with would react. This life is so much better.
As I went through my thoughts, the door was gently opened and a lady, around my age or maybe older than me walked in. “I am sorry to have walked in. I knocked and when I didn't hear any answer, I thought you were still sleeping.” She apologized, with her head down.
“It is okay. I just woke up actually.” I dismissed her concern, stretching out. “Do you mind me asking who you are?” I raised a brow.
She hurried to bow in front of me. “I am Nadine and I am your personal maid. I came here yesterday but you weren't awake and Miss Barbara said to leave you.” She explained.
“Well, Nadine. I am Diana, I am sure you know that already.” I also introduced myself.
It only makes sense if I show her a little respect and introduce myself like a normal person would. Actually, here in this pack, I am almost the same rank like her.
I am nothing like I used. The crown isn't mine to wear anymore. “Of course, Miss Diana. Should I run the water for you?” Nadine asked.
I checked the side watch, seeing that it was noon already. My body had deceived me into thinking that the sun was still to come out and I trusted it. “Yes, please.”
On my feet, I traced back to the closet, then grabbed a towel. I had gone around the room after Miss Barbara had left me alone, well when the doctor left. It was after then that someone had brought in my food and I passed out,and here we are.
“I will get your breakfast and have the car ready.” Nadine informed me and I cursed under my breath.
If I wasn't happy of my little escape, then I could have easily remembered that the doctor wanted me to come in today so that he could run some tests on me.
“I can't just reach a conclusion on what is wrong with you, Miss Diana.” He had said when he was done checking me for physical injuries. “We need the tests to tell us if there is anything that we are missing.”
Running into.the bathroom, I let my clothes go and walked into the bathtub. I let my body sink in it, letting out a soft sound. “This is so good.” I breathed.
I let the water cover me entirely, calming me down in a way that I had never imagined. The peace that I had wanted for years, I am starting to find it in a place that I had never expected.
–
By two exactly, I was done and down in the living room. “Alpha Valen would be going with us.” Nadine whispered, taking me by surprise.
“He doesn't have to. I can take myself to the hospital and deal with it.” I whispered back.
The thoughts of him going to the hospital with me gave me the chills. Since the moment he ordered Miss Barbara to take care of me, I hadn't set my eyes on him.
Not that I was expecting that but had thought he would come by. As I opened my mouth to say something again, the air around us in the living room changed.
The slow steps informed us of his presence in the room, while his cologne made its way to my nose, suffocating me. It was lovely, and I loved it, it was suffocating me in a good way.
Nadine greeted him as she moved back. I stood up also, bowing a little for him as I had seen everyone around here do. “You really don't have to go to the hospital with me.” I informed him.
The thoughts of it alone are weird. I don't want anyone to start thinking otherwise, that he cared about me and s**t. As he had said, he does care about me but following me to the hospital is another thing.
I have never had someone to go the hospital with me, except for my personal maid or a guard, not even when Lucine forced me to get those painful and stressful abortion.
“Bold of you to think that I am going to the hospital because of you.” He smirked and I left my body sinking.
That was cold. “As you can remember, I was also injured so I have to see the doctor. Meet me in the car if you are still interested in seeing the doctor.
Without uttering a single word, I followed him while nurturing my heart from what he had just said to me. “It doesn't mean anything.” I chanted to myself.
We got into the car, the same one that had brought us back home yesterday and it was revived to life. While Nadine and the rest of the maids took the other rear behind us. “Are you liking it here so far?” He asked.
I nodded my head at first then decided to use my voice. “I do. The living room looked so much like a museum and it made it hot.” I told him.
The thing is when you see art, you do have to praise it, and if I am lost at words for the perfect words I can say about the living room, then I will proudly do it. “My grandfather was a curator.”
I almost rolled my eyes at him but held myself back. “He kept the history going and damn, it is hot.” I said but more in a whisper.
“I can take you around when we are back from the hospital.” Alpha Valen offered.
“No, that would be a big thanks because I do know that you have work to do in your office so I can take care of myself.” I offered him a smile.
He doesn't expect me to smile at him, when he had just finished giving me cold shoulders. I also have feelings. I also have class and I would stand by it.
