My grip on the steering wheel tightened as I fumed. I was driving so fast that I passed a couple of traffic lights without stopping. It was a miracle that the cops didn’t stop me.
I wind down my glass to let the cool breeze slip through the window. I inhale the breeze, letting it fill my lungs in a bid to relieve myself.
I repeated the exercise over and over again, hoping it would calm my raging nerves. But it seemed to just cause momentarily relief.
“f**k!” I banged my fist on the steering over and over again, screaming into the night. At that moment, I felt my anger rising; I wanted someone to pay. Someone had to, for putting me in the hell I was in.
Catherine was gone. Rebecca was gone. Everything was falling apart, and it was all their fault.
