The city streets stretched out in front of us, all lit up with bright lights. Signs on the buildings were glowing in different colors and there were lots of cars zooming past us, reminding me of how busy the city could get, especially during the mornings.
I had insisted on having the windows open, so I could feel the night breeze. It helped to calm down my wrecking nerves and tone down my anxiety.
I let out a sigh as the wind caressed my face, filling me with warmth, despite its chilly sensation on my skin. If only life were that simple, and just like the wind, we were free to go anywhere we wanted.
It had been a very eventful night, and it was barely because of the event we had attended earlier. If I knew bumping into my husband was going to lead to a series of chaotic events, I would……
