My attention was rapt, as I sat down by the fireplace in my hotel room, listening in on their conversation. It felt like I was stuck at the cinema watching a movie I hated.
I had booked a hotel close to the restaurant, as soon as Rebecca texted me the location. I knew Rebecca could take care of herself, but I decided to stay close in case that bastard decided to be funny.
But the more I listened, the more I realized I wanted to be anywhere but here.
“When I married Rowland, I barely had option, that was why I was treated poorly, and now that I’m with you, I hope we can have the biggest wedding ever. “
Her words haunted me like a shadow I would never be able to get away from. The more she spoke, the more I realized how much I had wronged this woman.
