Mira's POV
"You're late," he growled as I walked up to the training grounds. Only half really paying attention I realized that it was not the 13 to 17 year old group that I should have been in. No, this was the adult group of everyone over 18.
"I just got discharged," I admitted, showing him the fact that I was still wearing the bracelet they put on my arm, "you can talk to the shama-"
"I don't care for excuses," he said in a determined growl, "because excuses get you injured, or killed. And I don't know about anyone else in this pack, but none of mine can come back from something like death."
A few girls chuckled at what I'm assuming was meant to be an attempt to make me embarrassed by the unmated alpha.
Why is he being such a jerk to me? He was kind the last time he was here.
'maybe it's his time of the month.' Skye laughed. Internally I smiled. The shaman had told me they sedated her, but it sounded like she was just waking up.
'Skye, are you okay?'
'I'm fine...I guess you've found out about me?' she asked, 'I've been searching your thoughts and it looks like you've had a talk with the shaman.'
'You knew?'
She shrugged and stretched out lazily, 'Not all of it, obviously, but I had an idea. My fates, wait until you actually get to meet me. I'll blow your socks off, lady.'
"ARE YOU GOING TO STAND THERE OR ANSWER ME!" he growled, breaking me from my conversation with Skye.
"What?"
"You really are as air-headed as the first day I met you, aren't you?" He growled, closing the distance between us. I felt like I was holding Skye back as he insulted us, "do you ever pay attention to anything?"
I felt my jaw twitch.
"What, little she-wolf, did I upset you?" he taunted. He poked my shoulder.
'I'm gonna kick his a*s. Gigantic hunk of gorgeousness or not, this man is a jerk,' Skye huffed, 'let me at him.'
"Please don't touch me."
"Or what," he taunted, poking me again, "You haven't shifted yet, because you're still a minor. What are you going to do little wolf?"
I felt my eyes glowing as Skye was pushing me from the other side.
"Looks like you're pissing her off, Alpha Achilles," his Beta, Sam interjected, in a mocking tone "better be careful."
"Watch yourself," I growled at the Beta. The voice didn't feel like my own and I knew Skye was breaking through my barriers. She put out an authoritative aura and a lot of the other people in my pack started giving submissive gestures. I could see Sam fighting it and Skye smiled.
My eyes glared him down, and he looked like a scared pup, so unsure of himself.
'Go in for the kill,' I told Skye, 'Let's show him a lesson.'
I ignored the alpha and took a few steps over to Sam. I felt my eyes glow even more. There was something different about the way I walked, because it wasn't just a walk, it was a sauntering stride to the beta. He tried to look at his alpha, but I wouldn't allow his gaze to leave mine, "oh no no no. No back up big boy. Just you and me."
"What are you doing?" he asked nervously.
"You want to play with fire baby," Skye purred. She used my hand to place it against his chest, right over his heart, "that's all fine and dandy, but I'm ice, sweetheart. Do you really think you can handle me giving you the cold shoulder?"
As I asked that, he hissed in pain. I could feel that I literally was freezing up his shoulder. He tried to move, but couldn't. Alpha Achilles was either too shocked, or too amused at the situation that he didn't order me to stop.
"Please," Same hissed as I continued to ice his shoulder.
"Say it," I hissed.
"I submit," he whined, like a scared little pup, "please stop."
I removed my hand and in an instant I was back in my original position. He looked at me in shock and horror and checked his shoulder.
"Sam," Alpha Achilles asked, turning back to his right hand man.
"What?" he asked.
"Atlas, take over. Sam. Mira, follow me." Alpha Achilles ordered. I looked at the two men as Atlas and a woman took over the training class and we wordlessly followed Achilles into the pack house. Once we were behind closed doors Sam looked at me as if I were evil.
"Did you see what she did?" he asked, "I don't care if she's not part of Dark Moon, assaulting another wolf out of turn is punishable."
"What are you talking about?" Achilles asked.
Sam ripped open his shirt, and sure as day there was a bright red hand print on his shoulder from our encounter. He pointed at me, "she did this. Just a few minutes ago."
"No she didn't," he said, shaking his head, "she was right in front of me the whole time? When could she have possibly done that?"
The beta looked at his alpha, "I-she told me to watch it, right?"
"Yes," Alpha Achilles nodded, "then you froze up and just stared at her. I asked if you were okay, but you two wouldn't stop glaring at one another."
"What?" Sam asked, his brow furrowing, "no...but she-I..."
"She didn't do that to you, Sam," Alpha Achilles laughed.
"No," I said, starting off slowly, "I didn't...but my wolf did."
"What are you talking about?" he laughed, "this is a joke, right? You're too young to communicate with your wolf."
"When I told him to watch it, did it sound like me?"
"No."
"That was Skye, my wolf," I admitted. I took a deep breath, "I suppose I should tell you both what I learned today, since in a few days when I turn 18, I may disappear."
"What are you talking about?" Alpha Achilles asked in a worried tone. I raised my brow at him.
'This man is bipolar, girl.' Skye sighed.
'You're telling me.'
"The elders...the royals..." I admitted, "they...know of my condition, and they will determine on my 18th birthday if I am too dangerous to live any longer...but yes, what Sam experienced was real. I don't know how Skye did that...but it happened. Somehow I managed to enter his mind and physically harm him without touching him."
Beta Sam looked at me with concerned eyes, then back to his Alpha. Achilles' jaw clenched and he turned on his heel, leaving me without a second thought.
