Miracle's POV
'I want you to stay in the daycare,' Raphael said over the mind link, 'these unmated alphas are pigs.'
'Well then tell your my nephew to stop adventuring off,' my wolf growled back to me ,'you should tell Raphael that.'
'Aww, Skye,' I giggled at my wolf, 'you know I couldn't say that.'
'Once we find our mate and have pups of our own you'll see just how well behaved a little one can be,' she howled on laughter.
I caught myself blushing as I walked down the hall. As I turned the corner I bumped into someone, falling backwards on my bottom.
'Oh my,' my wolf purred, 'he'd be a nice one to have pups with.'
My eyes went wide as I looked towards the man I'd bumped into. I felt myself turn a few shades darker as I recognized him from earlier.
"You," he said quickly, "do you always run into people? Or is it just a talent you have with me?"
"I'm so sorry," I muttered, pushing myself off the ground. I tucked some of my hair behind my ear and tried to keep my gaze lowered. This man, albeit very attractive, had been walking with my father which meant he had to have been an alpha from another pack...but which one, "my nephew seems to have evaded me once more. Looking for a snack table no doubt."
"How old are you that you cannot keep track of one pup," he antagonized, "are you that airheaded."
'Oh no he didn't, ' Skye growled. 'He did not just insult us. That fine piece of man did not just call us out.'
'Skye,' I pleaded, 'he's an alpha, and we don't know from which pack. We can't start trouble.'
"Well?"
I looked back at the man again and had realized he was waiting for an answer.
"I'm sorry."
"No wonder this pack is dwindling," he scoffed, "with she-wolves like you it's a wonder there's any pups left."
Before I could stop myself I felt a low rumbling in my chest. I had begun to growl at him.
The man raised a brow at me, obviously smug with the fact that he was pressing my buttons. He took a few steps closer until there were inches between us. Skye began growling a little louder.
"Little wolf do you have any idea who I am?" he asked.
"I don't care who you are," I growled, "I've attempted to be hospitable but you are openly insulting my pack."
"I am Achilles of Dark Moon," he smirked.
I didn't move a muscle. My growling got the slightest bit louder. I knew of the Dark Moon pack. They were a murderous clan. A half a step away from being a group of rogues, they spent all of their energy into dominating smaller packs and gaining more territory. While their clan was a newer one amongst the groups, they were known as some of the most deadly wolves around.
Why would father invite them.
"I advise you to stand down, little wolf," Achilles chuckled.
"No." I said, controlling my breathing, "not until you apologize."
He raised a brow at me then continued to chuckle, "the only one that will apologize will be your pack for wasting my time. Now, back down, little one."
"No."
I could see the anger peaking out from his irises. The dark green eyes were slowly becoming more vibrant until they were almost glowing. He was trying to use his alpha aura on me to get me to submit.
But I held my ground, "you are not my alpha. I will not bow to your whims."
I watched as his eyes became a radioactive green, and I felt my own aura begin to come forward, challenging his own. I knew my blue eyes had turned into a crystalline color as he took a step back.
"You have alpha blood," he said in a shocked tone.
"I do," I replied, feeling victorious that he backed down with his aura, " now, Alpha Achilles. I must go on a search for my nephew. Are we done here?"
He nodded and I smiled, sidestepping him. I caught the faintest wiff of what reminded me of a campfire in the summer. I felt blissful as I inhaled it deeply. It sent a shiver down my back.
'He may be a jerk,' Skye sighed, ' but that man smells and looks delicious.'
I shook my head at my wolf as I spotted my nephew at the entrance to the kitchen. He was trying to talk an omega into giving him some of the desserts made for the alpha gathering.
Achilles PoV
"What is it? my beta Sam asked I returned outside, "Are you okay Alpha."
"I saw her again," I admitted, " When I went into the packhouse I ran into her. She challenged me, Sam."
"You didnt kill the girl, did you, alpha" he asked worridly.
"No," I said, shaking my head, "her...her eyes glowed when I tried to make her submit...Sam, she's an alpha...I saw her wolf in her eyes, and she's powerful. More powerful than Atlas and Magdalena combined. She's the most powerful little wolf I've ever come across. I think she's the one. I think the moon goddess is gifting her to me."
"You sure you aren't imagining what you want?" he asked, "she didnt look so powerful when I saw her.
"Don't you dare question me," I growled at my best friend, "she is powerful. You will see."
