Sara’s POV
My breath caught in my throat as Zack’s words hung in the air, heavy and suffocating. The walls of the room seemed to close in around me, the ground beneath my feet unstable. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. All I could do was stare at him, searching his eyes for any hint of the truth—something, anything that would tell me this was all a lie, that Nora was just trying to manipulate us.
But Zack’s face told a different story. His horror, his disbelief, the way he shook his head as if trying to shake off a nightmare—this wasn’t just a baseless accusation. Something had happened that night, something he didn’t want to believe but couldn’t entirely dismiss.
“Nora,” Zack’s voice trembled, barely audible. “You’re lying. You have to be lying.”
Nora’s smile was cruel, satisfaction glea……
