Sara’s POV
Days turned into weeks, and slowly, the tension between Zack and I began to ease. Our conversations grew longer and less strained. We started to talk about more than just work or obligations, finding common ground in shared interests and experiences. The hurtful words and angry outbursts became fewer, replaced by tentative smiles and gentle touches.
One morning, as we prepared to head to work, there was a sense of normalcy that felt almost foreign after the chaos of the previous months. Zack and I left the house together, our interactions more relaxed and genuine.
"Ready for another day?" Zack asked as we walked to the car.
