“We’re going out into the city, Amy. We need to get to know our surroundings and I have made an appointment with the midwife for one.”
“Okay.” Let’s just hope we stay here longer than we did everywhere else or there will be no point in taking it all in.
Once I use the bathroom and change, I head into the lounge where there are fresh croissants and jam waiting on the table. I’ve always loved continental breakfasts, even if they weren’t filling. I had at least four croissants and jam to counter my hunger until lunch. I sat down and cut them open, spreading the jam over them. I could never understand why you need butter when it is already made with butter and, besides, jam and butter are a disgusting combination.
Beau smiles as I close the last croissant. And I ……
