Amile and Beau had been travelling for a week straight and they were hopping from city to city so Dominique couldn’t get a hit on them and find them as quickly as he would’ve done if they had stayed in one place long enough.
They’d landed in the Maldives an hour before and had booked into a villa for a few days. They had been travelling on and off for a week and it was finally catching up with them.
They had caught a taxi to their villa which overlooked the sea. They’d dropped their bags and fell to the bed in a deep slumber. Neither of them had slept well for the past week and this was the first time they’d collapsed from exhaustion. Her morning sickness was tolerable and she refused for it to get the better of her. All this travelling wasn’t good for her or the baby. They'd have to stop eventually and settle in one place to have the baby.
She hoped that Dominique wouldn’t find either of them or she’d be back where she’d begun with a man No who had kidnapped her for debt that wasn’t he’s but that useless sperm donor’s.
If he found the, Beau would be in so much s**t for helping her escape from him and doing it knowing she was carrying his heir, he’d be shot on the spot.
Amile slowly came around, Beau smiling at her. He’d fallen for her four years ago, even though he knew it was against everything that he stood for. He knew he shouldn’t’ve but he had.
She’d been living in the Devil’s den, the depths of hell. Dominique had made sure of that. She had been led to believe that her father had been unable to clear all of his debt with the Mafia boss so he had decided that he would keep her to pay off the rest of the debt her father owed him. But she found out that it was all a lie. A kid her mother had paid dearly for.
Now on the run and pregnant, Amile and Beau had found and settled into a small cottage away from civilization and where hopefully no one would ever find them. “Beau?”
“Good morning Angel. How are you?”
“I feel like shit.”
“Are you really sure about this angel?”
“I am. I told you before that I don’t love him.”
“Yet you gave him that.” He said, referring to the baby in her belly.
“You know that I had no choice Beau. And I know you also helped him to plot my kidnapping.”
“I know. I’m sorry angel, I truly regret everything I did, but I’m glad I met you. If I hadn’t I would never have known how it truly felt to be in love.”
“Don’t Beau.”
“Don’t what? Tell you the truth?”
“He’ll kill you.”
“He’ll kill us both, angel, me for going against him and you for escaping him.”
“Will we ever be safe?”
“If someone shoots him dead, yes.”
“He can’t know where I am Beau, and he can never find out that I’m pregnant.”
“He won’t as long as we are careful, I promise.”
“You never said what you did to them so we weren’t caught.”
He laughed. “I drugged their drinks. They would have been out until the morning and once they realised they’d got a hangover from hell that wasn’t caused by alcohol they’d be asking the question how? Then they’d search for us and wouldn’t find us; they'd look into what had happened and why we were both gone. It will all take time, Amy they won’t find us anytime soon. I promise you.”
She laughed she didn’t think he had it in him but he had and for that she was truly grateful.
He brushed his hand over her face, moving her hair away from her eyes. “I’m here for you Amy no matter what you decide okay? I’ll help you bring up the child if that’s what you decide is best and I’ll never leave you to defend for yourself though I know you can. I’ll protect you no matter what.”
She smiled. “Thanks Beau.”
He returned her smile gently brushing the pad of his thumb across her cheek he wished he’d met her under different circumstances they may have stood a chance but now there was no doubt in his mind he would never have one with this girl, the girl he’d loved since she first caught his eye when she had bumped into him at the highschool she attend the more he got to know her the more he’d fell. But, he knew he would have no chance with her because he was there for her to trust so she could be taken back to France, something he had truly regretted and wished he was never part of. Now he stood no chance in hell he’d get her she didn’t trust him even if he had helped her get away from his boss she’d never truly trust him after he had lied himself into her life and for that he couldn’t blame her.
“When’s your birthday Amy? Dom never mentioned it ever.”
“Figures. Though you all should’ve known if you had info on me. It’s April tenth, a month before the baby is due.”
“We need to get you booked in for an ultrasound. We need to know how far you’ve gone before we move on. We can't travel far and wide. If you're over six months we’ll have to stay local and hire a car.”
“Won't Dom find us if we do that?”
“Not necessarily if we go town to town we can head over the borders to other countries until you’ve had the baby and we can resume our fight schedule.”
“Okay.
“You’re safe with me I promise.” He said, kissing her brow.
She sure hoped so. She couldn’t go back there not knowing what she knew Dom would have her under lock and key and he’d make sure she would breed heirs for him until she no longer could.
