“Just forgive him, Alpha-King. He doesn’t understand the consequences of messing with you,” the guard murmured as he bowed before us, his voice trembling slightly, as though the weight of the words carried his own fears.
“It’s well,” Lorenzo replied calmly, his tone carrying a confidence that could silence a room.
I nodded in agreement, though my hands were clammy, and my heart hammered in my chest and I tasted blood in my mouth but I didn't want Lorenzo to see it before Javier was carried out.
I hadn’t expected Javier to stoop so low. Humiliating me was almost a given, but to tarnish his own image before the council? I never imagined he would sink that low.
But then again, he has always been a coward and a lunatic and somehow, I was happy that he did it since he saved me a lot of e……
