"Lorenzo," I murmured, biting on my lower lip.
His presence unfurled like an avalanche—slow, relentless, impossible to escape. He didn’t need to raise his voice or brandish a weapon. His sheer existence was enough to crack the air around us, heavy and unforgiving.
His gaze slid over the chaos, finding Laura with a precision that made my skin crawl. His eyes, dark as the abyss, settled on her, and his voice, cold as a blade’s edge, sliced through the silence.
