Tracy’s face paled as the number echoed in her mind. "Ten million dollars? That’s absurd! This is exactly why I left them in the first place. All they care about is extorting money at every turn."
She ran a hand through her hair, visibly frustrated. "I’ve poured nearly every cent into this project already. I can’t afford to keep bailing them out whenever they decide to raise their prices."
Mr. Greene, watching her reaction, gave a sympathetic nod. "Maybe we can negotiate, Ms. Tracy”.
Tracy nodded, “that's true, try calling them back and pushing for a lower amount. Maybe three million?I can't pay higher then that".
Mr. Greene took out his phone and dialed the contact number for the Central Trade Authority.
Tracy could hear the muffled conversation, the strained tones on both ends, but when Mr. ……
