I pulled up in front of Emma’s apartment building. Maybe I should’ve messaged her that I was coming over. I shook my head. She’d just tell me not to. She’d be mad I knew it was her. At least, if I was there, I’d be able to see she was alright.
The urge to make sure she wasn’t hurt was stronger than ever. I knew the men were arrested. Val would’ve said something if they hadn’t and I’d be hunting down the fuckers who scared my girl.
When I opened the door and stepped into the hallway to her building, I caught a slightly familiar scent. Blueberries and something like cinnamon. I hadn’t smelled that the last time I was here. Maybe someone new moved in and didn’t realize their wolf neighbors would be able to smell it in the hall.
