Once we had all of Ian’s things, we headed to my room. It was on a different floor and on the opposite side of the building. I didn’t really say much as I pondered his response to my admission of trust.
Why shouldn’t I trust him? That concerned me more than the fact that someone was trying to kill me. If I couldn’t trust another hunter, who could I trust?
Ian led the way and Keaton brought up the rear, keeping me between them, where they could keep me safe. I hated this so much. Not just the unexpected danger to me, but that things repeatedly stopped us from our mission.
We were there to get close to the werewolf. We needed to kill him. This was the hardest job of my life because so many things kept popping up to make it so.
First, my partner seems to hate me for no reason, and ……
