“Go back upstairs and stay in your room. Don't come out until I tell you to do so.”

I give Dawn the instructions, and she turns on her heels. She quietly rushes back up the stairs.

“What do you want? You are not welcome here.”

I listen in quietly. I don't want to step in yet. I want to know what this asshole is up to.

He's got some nerve coming here.

“It's not about me being welcome here. I came to take what belongs to me.” He demands.

I know his voice so well, and I just want to go back there and bash his face in like I did the last time.

“Last time I checked, I don't owe you anything.” Reed defensively answers.

“If you don't give me what belongs to me, then I will have no choice but to take it by force,” Dave growls back, and my face hardens.
