We finally make it home, and we decide to wait for Reed in the living room. There are two hours left till midnight. 

“You don’t have to babysit me, you know,” I tell Vincent. “I am old enough to take care of myself.”

“Nah, I am not going anywhere. If anything happens to you, Reed will kill me, and I don’t want to lose him as a friend. He is the only friend I have. Ensuring your safety is the last thing I can do for him." 

They sure are close. I can't help but be envious of the relationship.

“I wish I had a friend like that. I thought my sister was such a friend to me, but she ended up betraying me.” I say, my heart hurting a little. Every time I think about it, I just feel sad. I have been so good to Tara that if she needed anything, I would make sure I made it happen for her. She has neve……
