Miya POV
“It’s you, isn’t it?”
I sighed. I hadn’t even retrieved my books from the locker yet, and already the stale scent of vampire was assaulting my nose. I pulled my math book and shut the locker to see Dimitri leaning against the locker next to mine, keeping a careful watch on those that could eavesdrop.
“It is, in fact,” I replied, dryly. “I’m not sure who else I could be at 8am.”
Dimitri shot me an icy scowl. “That’s not what I meant. The animals. The ones that have the wolves all riled up. It’s you, isn’t it?”
Oh, that.
“Yeah,” I replied, perhaps a bit more easily than I should have. “I’m going to start burying them. It’s our first time living this close to a territory, so I didn’t think it would be that big a deal. Our house isn’t even in a territory, so I thought…”
