The next day, I couldn’t hide my unease, because I knew within me that something was amiss. I watched Evan closely, noting the way he interacted with the guards, the way he seemed to always be in the right place at the right time…. Which was very unusual for the Evan that I knew in paris. Immediately I knew I had to confront Aliya, but I needed more evidence, because Aliya will not believe me if I tell her.
I decided to follow Evan discreetly, hoping to catch him in a compromising situation. It wasn’t long before my efforts paid off. I found him in a secluded part of the house, speaking in hushed tones with a shadowy figure. I couldn’t make out their conversation, but it was clear that Evan was plotting something.
