Chapter Fifteen: Blowing up the Phone

I watched Ray’s face change from surprise, to confusion, to horror, until it finally settled into red-faced humiliation, and I couldn’t do anything about it. If I said there was never any bet, I’d be lying. Months ago, a bunch of us had partying and we were all a little drunk. Some poor little freshmen had made a fool of herself trying to ask me on a date. People had started teasing me then, saying I was such a hot item that I could convince anyone to fall for me, girl or guy. I don’t know how they settled on Ray as their designated victim. I really didn’t take it seriously, I thought we were just drunk and joking around. 

But I didn’t see how I was going to convince Ray that it was just a joke when we were surrounded by idiot……
