I kept checking my phone and my email at least once an hour. “Come on, Ray, please,” I was begging as I opened the email app for the hundredth time. The only new mail I had was some spam offering me the lowest car insurance ever. I sighed heavily and stuffed the phone back in my scrubs. Maybe I just needed to accept the fact that he wasn’t going to get over it. He wasn’t going to forgive me. And that sucked balls because it wasn’t even my fault, not really.   


I was in no mood to keep stressing my brain with studying, so I switched my phone over to my work playlist and tried to zone out to the music. My mood was dark and stormy, and it only got worse after someone vomited all over the men’s bathroom. I pulled on an isolation gown and double gloved before I pushed open the……
